MWDT is owner-led. Under the direction of owner Chris Charles, the company has grown from a machine shop into a multi-site manufacturing partner with operations in Texas and California — while keeping the hands-on, customer-first approach that has earned the trust of our long-standing customers.

Chris Charles owns and leads MWDT. Under his leadership, MWDT has built its reputation as a one-stop source for precision machined components, sheet metal parts, and technical ceramics — expanding from Texas into California to serve West Coast customers and adding in-house engineering and materials-science capabilities along the way.
Chris stays close to the shop floor and to customers. His priorities are the ones MWDT is known for: responsive service, straight answers on manufacturability, and quality parts delivered on time.

Depending on material, part complexity, and metal finishing required, we can often turn parts around in 1–2 weeks. Metal finishing services — powder coating, aluminum and titanium anodizing, clear chromate, plating (clear and black zinc, electroless nickel-tin), and alumina and yttria ceramic coatings — are provided through Anodic Process Technologies.

Part Design
Our mechanical engineering department uses Pro/ENGINEER CAD software and can work with almost any solid model or drawing file format.
Reverse Engineering
We reverse-engineer customer parts using micrometers, optical comparators, and CMM — every measurement verified twice — then generate a solid model and drawing.
Materials Science & Selection
Our in-house material scientists support material selection across metals, high-performance plastics (thermoplastics and fluoropolymers), and advanced ceramics (oxides, nitrides, and carbides).
