Industrial Furnaces and Kilns

MWDT helps furnace and kiln manufacturers move beyond heavy refractory shapes, fragile fiber boards, and particle-shedding insulation with FurnaSure™ — a next-generation SiOC ceramic-foam insulation tile and kiln-furniture system engineered for extreme thermal-shock resistance, low thermal mass, and energy-efficient thermal cycling.

Where FurnaSure™ Is Used

FurnaSure™ thermal insulation tiles and kiln furniture serve a broad range of high-temperature equipment and processes, including:

  • Ovens and box furnaces
  • Tube furnaces and laboratory furnaces
  • Induction (RF) furnaces
  • Specialty process chambers
  • Custom thermal fixtures and kiln furniture

For furnace designers and process engineers, FurnaSure™ is a practical alternative to heavy refractory shapes, fragile fiber boards, and insulation systems that can shed particulate into sensitive work zones.

Where FurnaSure™ Is Used

Built for Demanding Thermal Environments

FurnaSure™ is engineered to meet the extreme thermal, mechanical, and operational demands of high-performance furnace environments:

  • Extreme thermal-shock resistance — withstands rapid −200°C to 1200°C transitions in seconds, rated to a maximum of 1290°C
  • Very low thermal conductivity — as low as 0.034 W/m·K (0.019 BTU/h·ft·°F)
  • Very low density (0.15 g/cc) and low stored heat — faster heat-up, faster cool-down, shorter thermal cycles, and lower energy costs
  • Long-term, crack-free performance that reduces refractory tile and insulation replacement costs
  • Machinable for custom shapes

Ovens insulated with FurnaSure™ can achieve ramp rates two to four times faster than traditional furnaces insulated with firebrick and conventional refractory materials. These accelerated heating cycles enable manufacturers to increase production throughput and fire significantly more product in less time.

Additionally, FurnaSure™’s ultra-low thermal conductivity and thermal mass dramatically reduce the energy required to heat and cool the furnace, delivering energy savings of 50% or more per kiln or furnace cycle.
