FurnaSure™ Thermal Insulation hero image

FurnaSure™ Thermal Insulation

FurnaSure™ is a SiOC-based ceramic-foam product line engineered for furnace insulation and kiln-furniture applications. It is coated with a thin, durable alumina layer that adds surface protection and reduces particle shedding while maintaining the thermal-shock resistance of the foam core. MWDT is authorized to market and distribute FurnaSure™ for insulation in industrial and scientific furnaces (gas, electric, and RF/induction) and kilns.

Benefits of FurnaSure™

  • Remarkably low thermal conductivity — as low as 0.034 W/m·K (0.019 BTU/h·ft·°F), depending on average pore size, with consistent pore sizes
  • Exceptional thermal-shock capability — withstands rapid −200°C to 1200°C transitions in seconds; maximum temperature rating of 1290°C
  • Very low density (0.15 g/cc) and low stored heat versus dense refractory components — faster heat-up, faster cool-down, much shorter thermal cycles, and reduced energy costs
  • Energy efficient — less wasted energy heating insulation and kiln furniture instead of the workpiece
  • Maintains stability, precision, and usability over long-term operating cycles
  • Machinable for custom shapes
Benefits of FurnaSure™

Where Other Refractories Fail

FurnaSure™ is a material system designed to maintain structural integrity and insulating performance under sustained extreme conditions. Where other refractories crack and fail over repeated thermal cycling, FurnaSure™ provides long-term, crack-free performance — reducing traditional refractory tile and insulation replacement costs.

Its extreme thermal-shock resistance makes FurnaSure™ particularly well-suited for induction furnaces and other applications where the thermal insulation is subjected to repeated and extreme temperature swings.

Applications

For ovens, box furnaces, tube furnaces, laboratory furnaces, specialty process chambers, and custom thermal fixtures and kiln furniture, FurnaSure™ gives furnace designers and process engineers a practical alternative to heavy refractory shapes, fragile fiber boards, and insulation systems that can shed particulate into sensitive work zones.
